Enlightenment Capital, an aerospace, defense & government focused investment firm based in the Washington, DC area, announced that Brett Lambert has joined the firm’s advisory board. Brett brings 25+ years of defense, government, and intelligence expertise to Enlightenment’s distinguished group of advisors.
Brett is the outgoing Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy. He has been the principal advisor to the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics on matters relating to the defense industrial base, including mergers & acquisitions, preservation of essential industries and technologies, and industrial capabilities and assessments. In this role, Brett led multiple initiatives to understand and strengthen the second and third tier of the defense industrial base supply chain.
Brett led President Obama’s Department of Defense effort to establish the first National Network for Manufacturing Innovation site, and was awarded both the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service, as well as the Secretary of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service, the highest award from the Secretary available to a non-career civilian. Brett has deep relationships throughout the industry, evidenced by his receipt of the National Defense Industrial Association Gold Medal, the highest honor awarded by the organization, which has over 1,700 corporate and 80,000 private members.
Prior to joining the DoD, Brett helped grow DFI International, a national security consultancy. Throughout his time with DFI, Brett was engaged in myriad acquisitions, international joint ventures, offset arrangements, and foreign equity investments in the national security space.
