Expedition Technology Acquires Millennial Software, Expanding Mission Software and Space Domain Awareness Capabilities
Expedition Technology (“EXP”), a leading developer of advanced sensor processing systems and cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning-powered solutions for national security missions, announced today the completion of its acquisition of Millennial Software Solutions, Inc. (“Millennial Software”), a mission software company specializing in space domain awareness, space battle management, satellite operations and geospatial intelligence.
Millennial Software will become a wholly owned subsidiary of EXP. The combination expands Expedition’s technical capabilities and customer reach while bringing together two engineering-focused organizations with complementary technologies, missions and cultures.
“Millennial is the right company at the right time to supercharge Expedition’s expansion into new markets and new partnerships,” said Marc Harlacher, President and CEO of Expedition Technology. “They have built an exceptional team, a strong culture and differentiated technology in mission areas that are increasingly critical to national security, especially when it comes to using cutting-edge AI/ML solutions in the heavily contested space domain. Together, we can take on larger challenges, reach new customers and create more opportunities for our people.”
The acquisition adds Millennial Software’s expertise in software development, automation, DevSecOps and machine learning to Expedition’s established capabilities in advanced signal processing, computer vision, and data management. The combined organization will have a broader technical foundation for developing software that helps defense and intelligence customers process complex data, understand rapidly changing operational environments and make decisions faster.
Founded in 2019 by a team of mission-driven engineers focused on building impactful solutions for national security customers, Millennial Software supports transforming threat and mission data into operational tools designed to provide real-time insight and predictive intelligence. The company has developed a growing portfolio of mission software products, including:
- Skyward, a suite of Space Domain Awareness tools designed to improve threat awareness and space mission effectiveness.
- Keystone, a secure AI/ML orchestration platform designed to transform multi-source data into predictive, mission-ready intelligence.
“From the start, Millennial has focused on creating a place where talented engineers can solve difficult problems and see their work make a real difference,” said Matthew Sulkosky, Founder and CEO of Millennial Software. “In Expedition, we found a teammate that shares that philosophy and brings complementary capabilities, customer relationships and experience that can help us have a greater impact on national security.”
Together, the companies expect to bring stronger signal processing, AI/ML, mission software and domain expertise to a broader range of defense and intelligence programs.
The acquisition represents the next phase of Expedition’s growth strategy following the strategic investment in the company by Razor’s Edge and Enlightenment Capital in 2025. That partnership was established to provide Expedition with additional resources to scale its AI/ML-powered national security capabilities and pursue growth across the signals and geospatial intelligence markets.
